Fruit Flies

Fruit flies are tiny vinegar‑loving flies that swarm ripe or rotting produce and lay eggs in the fermenting juices. A single female can lay hundreds of eggs, so leaving bananas on the counter can quickly create an “instant cloud.” Disposing of overripe fruit, cleaning recycling bins and flushing floor‑drain slime removes breeding sites. Simple traps made from apple‑cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap mop up stragglers.
